Frequently Asked Questions

You've never been married before! Never had to plan a wedding! How in the world are you supposed to know all this stuff? Don't sweat it. Here's a list of very normal questions to have, regarding me and my services or just weddings in general!

FAQ's

  • Do you require a deposit or a retainer fee?
I require a $300 non refundable retainer fee at time of booking.
  • How do you choose the music for the wedding highlight film?
I choose the music for your highlight film by meticulously going through the footage of your day, remembering how it felt in that present moment, and choosing music that harmonizes with that feeling. Some days are a party non-stop, but some aren't. I choose the right music for the feeling your day had.
  • Is there a travel charge for my wedding?
I charge the standard .65 a mile, outside of the 20 mile radius of my location.
  • If you've never filmed at my venue before, is that a problem?
Absolutely not! I have perfected the art of showing up and constantly watching for the best spots to capture your day perfectly. If I haven't filmed at your venue, or if it's not a venue at all, I usually show up just a few minutes early to take my time as I walk through to prepare myself for filming. It has never been a problem! 😘
  • How do you record the audio from our day?
There are multiple times I will need to mic you up, if you'd like! First looks, first touches, reading letters, ceremony, vows, speeches, ect. I have three ways of capturing audio. Day of, I always communicate with your DJ to make sure I can capture his speaker audio. If you don't have a DJ, I also use a lapel recorder that fits in the groom and the officiants pocket. This way, I always have a backup to get that crisp audio that is so important!
  • How do you work with other vendors?
I love meeting new vendors and working alongside them! I get to watch them, see how they work and learn from them. I always try to communicate with the photographer to let them know, I will need to capture just as much as they do and that I'm excited to work with them thorough the day! Teamwork makes the dream work!
  • How long will it take to receive my completed gallery?
If you have the base package, The Highlight, it will take 1-2 months in slow season (Jan-May) and 1-3 months in busy season (June-December). With the additional packages, it make take a few more weeks to receive everything. I keep in mind how excited you are to receive it! I also don't want to rush your precious film. If I have 3/4 of it done, and something doesn't feel right or that it's not entirely what you deserve, I will start over from the beginning until it's perfect!
  • How will my film be delivered?
I create a personalized website for each couple using Vidflow. Through your website, you can watch, download and share all your films. Although, this website doesn't last forever, so make sure you download your films to a hard drive or computer to keep!
  • How often will you communicate with us leading up to the wedding?
After our initial booking conversation, I try to communicate just enough to not overwhelm you, but to make both of us feel prepared and ready for the day! I send a wedding questionnaire over to you about 2 weeks before the wedding to help with any questions I might have. Other than that, I like to check in on you a few times, but I will allow you to reach out on your own convenience! Wedding planning is ALOT and things get hard. I don't want to add to your stress at all! Let me know if you'd like to meet, facetime or just text! I am here to make this process a breeze.
  • What is your personality?
This is IMPORTANT to you and me! Don't feel bad for asking this question. Throughout my years of experience, I have found "the sweet spot" for my filming that has allowed me to create such personalized films. When I show up to your day, understand my work is only 1/3 of the way done. When I am filming, I am CONSTANTLY thinking and planning for your highlight film. Half of the editing is in filming. If I didn't plan certain shots, your highlight would be boring, average, and cookie cutter. I don't want that for you. So when I show up to a wedding day, I initially greet and communicate to make sure I know everyone is at ease with me, but then my mind starts going! Inside, I'm planning, outside, I'm more quiet! If I have a certain shot I know I need to get, I will jump on in there and get it, but more often than not I am easily able to move around and capture what I need! Also, If I seem quiet, remember, I also have a mic on my camera that I use for your films. I don't want to hear me in the background, I want to hear YOU. There have been many times I wanted to use a certain moment, but I was laughing or talking. With photo, we can be as loud as we want, the photo is still captured! Unfortunately with video, every aspect is important and captured! I never know when I may hear a "I love you" from a parent, grandparent, or sibling. I'd love for you to remember those times throughout film. So if you see me being quiet, just know I'm creating a masterful film for you, full of your friends and families sweet voices!
  • Is there anything certain I should do on my wedding day for you?
NO! NO! NO! This is your day! I'm just capturing it! Please don't alter anything on my behalf. I can work under any condition, wether that be heat, snow, 2 hour long family pictures, long speeches, whatever! You live your day as you see fit, and I'll be there getting the best moments.
